My town Friday shoot-out / relaxation

For those that live in Rio de Janeiro relaxation means water and family.

Whether it be walking by, being in, being on, being solitary or with half the city, being while the sun is hot or when the air is cool, when the sun is rising or when falling, they are happiest while relaxing near water.

DSC01058DSC00859The sea, the movement of water, is reflected in the rhythms of their walk and in the sway of their music.

Some walk their dogs, some push elderly parents, some guide their children at play, and some sit quiet and contemplate but it is by the powerful sea or the soft lagoa, along the edge of water, it is a ritual as long observed as this city has lived.

  9. We have a similar place where people do rock fishing. The life guards say it is very dangerous. The waves can rush up and sweep the fisherman.

  10. Oh, to relax by the sea! I miss it. There's nothing like walking barefoot on the sand, with the sound of the waves and the seagulls' cries. Great post!

  22. The people of Rio have the right idea. Maybe it's because we are mostly made of water that it draws us so.

Well, slap my hand and call me lazy.

I always love seeing your part of the world. You know how to put up a travel brochure, to the point of my wanting to hop a plane.

The net fishing photo super rocks, GingerV. Everything is just perfect. But my favorite is the last shot. It speaks volumes.

I can see me and hubby sitting in those chairs.

    Have a great week!
